Who are you?
Hello! My name is Rey Ortega from Toronto Canada.
www.rey-o.com
What do you do?
I draw stuff, and sometimes fight crime on the side.
Inspirations?
Cartoons, simplicity, good conversation, opposites, Jim Henson.
Please describe your creative process, or highlight a specific process used for a recent project.
These days I have been trying to work more on instinct rather than laboring over roughs and sketches. As a result of this, the work has also become much more personal too. I'm enjoying this new process because of the sense of discovery.
Please describe your average workday.
Wake up unusually early and take care of emails, general internet goofing around. Eat. If I'm working on a piece than this is what eats up most of my days and nights. If I'm writing or coming up with new ideas, I go through a whole ordeal of frustration and anguish until I settle on something. The actual drawing process is very calming, almost meditative. In the afternoon I do lots of research, different magazines and other creatives who I can possibly work with.

What are things that you would like to do in the future that you haven't done already
I'd like to publish a comic book, and also create a line of designer socks.
